Wireshark is the world’s foremost and widely-used
network protocol analyzer. It lets you see what’s happening on your network at
a microscopic level and is the de facto (and often de jure) standard across
many commercial and non-profit enterprises, government agencies, and
educational institutions. Wireshark development thrives thanks to the volunteer
contributions of networking experts around the globe and is the continuation of
a project started by Gerald Combs in 1998.

Wireshark and AirPcap
NetBalancer
is a Windows application for local network traffic control and monitoringBrowse and do any internet activity comfortably on your PC even
when your download manager or torrent client downloads huge files from internet
- just lower their network priority with NetBalancer
Control your traffic with
priorities and rules Control every aspect of the network traffic on your PC with deep packet
inspection (DPI), priorities and time based rules.
Advanced monitoring and
statistics View
real-time traffic data and build advanced traffic statistics and charts very
any period of time
Control every aspect of the traffic flow on your computer. Set
advanced rules and filters, edit network priorities for running processes and
do many other operations on your machine or on a group of machines based on
tags.
In a matter of seconds it finds and scans all computers on your
network and provides easy access to their various resources, such as HTTP,
HTTPS, FTP and shared folders.
With
freeware Advanced IP Scanner you can scan all IP addresses on your
local network. The remote PC shutdown feature lets you shut down any remote
machine or a group of machines running Windows. You can also wake these
machines remotely with Advanced IP Scanner if their network cards
support Wake-On-LAN functionality.
Advanced
IP Scanner and Radmin
remote control software are deeply integrated. IP Scanner lets you scan your
network, find all computers running Radmin Server, and connect
to any one of them with one click. The free Radmin Viewer needs to be
installed on your PC for you to access a remote machine running Radmin Server. With Radmin, you can access the
remote PC in Full Control, File Transfer, and Telnet modes.
NetPerSec is a lightweight
Windows application that displays the current rate of network traffic being
received and sent by your computer. The mini speed graph in the system tray
(notification area) is especially useful for catching network problems at a
glance, such as a sudden pause in data transfer.
NetPerSec measures the
real-time speed of your Internet connection. Different types of connections
promise different communication speeds, but is this what you're actually
getting? Due to network traffic, actual speeds are often slower than what is
promised. Cable modems are fast if not many of your neighbors are sharing the
line, but can slow down considerably with a heavy load. How do you know when
it's time to switch to DSL? NetPerSec lets you check your connection speed in
real time. It monitors all TCP/IP activity to and from the Internet or other
networks, and graphs the communication speed. Its dynamic tray icon shows send
and receive activity with a bar graph or a histogram. For details, open the
program's main window to view current and average send and receive speeds in a
configurable, graphical display. You can adjust the sampling rate and the
amount of data used to compute the average.
Angry IP scanner is a very fast IP address and port scanner.
It
can scan IP addresses in any range as well as any their ports. It is
cross-platform and lightweight. Not requiring any installations, it can be
freely copied and used anywhere.
Angry
IP scanner simply pings each IP address to check if it’s alive, then optionally
it is resolving its hostname, determines the MAC address, scans ports, etc. The
amount of gathered data about each host can be extended with plugins.
It
also has additional features, like NetBIOS information (computer name,
workgroup name, and currently logged in Windows user), favorite IP address
ranges, web server detection, customizable openers, etc.
Scanning
results can be saved to CSV, TXT, XML or IP-Port list files. With help of
plugins, Angry IP Scanner can gather any information about scanned IPs. Anybody
who can write Java code is able to write plugins and extend functionality of
Angry IP Scanner.
In
order to increase scanning speed, it uses multithreaded approach: a separate
scanning thread is created for each scanned IP address. The full source code is
available, see the download page.
